The Move

Since leaving home to Cambodia, I have moved more times than I have ever before in my life.  I don’t move far, just to different houses around Wat Preah Yesu.  When I first arrived back in Cambodia, we still all lived in one of the volunteer houses.  But then right before the beginning of school, Kathleen and I moved into a big storage room in the cafeteria so that we could be close to the girls we would be the deans of.  At the time, the former dean was still living in the dean’s apartment and was waiting for another house to be finished before their family could move.  After the family moved, the house had to be thoroughly cleaned, repainted, and the electricity fixed.   Many in both the girls and boys dorms pitched in to literally flood wash the house.  So after all the delays, Kathleen and I finally moved in after about two months.   We had several little helpers carrying out boxes of books, kitchen stuff, and bedding.  Even though it has been some time since we have moved, I thought that some of you might enjoy seeing where we now live and at least see the cute faces of my helpers.  Hope you enjoy.

Since our latest move, we joke that we have really moved up in the world. We now have electricity and indoor plumbing (or at least an indoor pump :)

And last but most certainly not least, we have a dog.  Last year Kathleen was give a puppy by one of our 12th grade students.  He has grown a lot since then and he protects his girls at the dorm.  He is part of the family now.  Just so you can appreciate our young, handsome hero and companion, I thought you might like to see him too.
